According to John Arnason, Director of the Phytochemistry, Medicinal Plant and Ethnopharmacology Laboratory at the University of Ottawa, most of our native species of plants are not that toxic. "There are a few species that are a bit nasty, but we have few things that will kill you outright, right away."
