Network Traffic Monitor
The Local Scoop web site employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. This software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted our web site, for the date and time of the visit and the pages visited. The Scoop makes no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected.
Cookies
The Local Scoop uses Google Analytics, which uses “cookies” to track how our visitors use the site to determine sites previously visited. The cookies do not allow us to identify individuals.
Google Analytics compiles the data into statistical information on traffic patterns and uses it to assess site efficiency. The Local Scoop E-news Emails
The Local Scoop uses an email system called Mailchimp to handle the sending of emails to our newsletter recipients. Persons may subscribe to our newsletter. This system is not directly connected to our website. Individuals may unsubscribe from our subscription service by clicking the unsubscribe link on any newsletter.
