North American Native Plant Society Fall Tour
CAROLINIAN WOODS OF SW ONTARIO
Saturday September 22, 2012
Did the picture above elicit a longing to get out into Nature? If you suffer from Nature Deficit Disorder and are lacking in a good dose of Vitamin N, then let us lead you into the Woods!
Unlike some vitamins which are toxic in high doses, you cannot overdose on Vitamin N. The bigger the forest, the bigger the dose of Vitamin N delivered without the usual side effects. Note: as with Vitamin C, we cannot produce our own Vitamin N. We have to take it on a regular basis to stay in optimal health. For one low price, we are offering an optimal biological dose (OBD) of four successive treatments.
Take our prescription and you will find yourself here in an old growth forest; not just any old growth forest, but the Jackson-Gunn Old Growth Forest.
You will also find yourself in Backus Woods, Canada's largest remaining Carolinian Forest, with tall Tulip Trees, beautiful Flowering Dogwood, Black Gum and Sassafras, along with many ferns and wildflowers.
As part of the health regiment, we've also prescribed The Arthur Langford Reserve, with its wetlands and rare species such as American Chestnut, Butternut, Black Gum and the Jefferson Salamander.
And lastly, come check out Van Den Nest Nursery, a small, family-owned, unique nursery specializing in native Carolinian trees and shrubs. It really is "Eden" on Earth being surrounded by glorious natives. It's your chance to buy some and take them home! Think of it as a take home remedy until you can refill your next Rx at the NANPS dispensary.
Don't accept generics. There is no substitute for the real thing! Partake in all four treatments for one low prescription price of $35 for NANPS members and $50 for non-members. Members who live in SW Ontario can join the tour in their own vehicles starting from Backus Woods, at a reduced cost.
